Birthday Wishes!

This photo is of my Grandma Pauline, my sister Denise (Permission to Mother in the blog world) and Myself on the left. Today is both Grandma's birthday and Denise's. Sending love and wishes to you both, you are both people that I love very much.

Grandma Pauline, known as easy Grandma or Gramsey by our kids. I still remember her coming to visit on the big black train from Brooklyn out to Long Island. She always made scrambled eggs, and had peanut brittle in the bottom of her purse. This past Saturday she fell and fractured her hip, and had surgery the next morning. I was happy that she got to see Denise because it was always special that they share the same birthday together.

Denise and I have seemed to be always going through the same things, just on the other side of the country. I hope that you have a good birthday, at least the start of a new year for you! You have been a great support for me in all I have gone through. (especially in the past few years) Thank you for being my friend (and accomplice at times too) I am so happy that we got to see each other this summer. I hope that you know how glad I am to have you as a sister.

Despite it all, I hope you have had a great day.

With love to you both, Carrie

There is nothing more special than a grandmothers love. I loved my Nanny. She has been gone for over 10 years and I still miss her dearly.

That is a really great photo. I am glad you posted because I couldn't find the photo I wanted to use and was too tired.

I wanted to post about it being both of our birthdays, but I wasn't born on Grandma's birthday. Grandma thought her birthday was May 8th. It turns out that her mother told the school board that her half birthday was her birthday, so she could start school earlier.

When she needed a passport (in her 50's) she requested her birth certificate and found out we share a birthday.

I wanted a birthday without cake and restaurants. And I got one... right in Florida Hospital... gotta be careful what you wish for.

Grandma was so happy to see me. She thought I wouldn't be able to make it. She said she has so many good memories of us. I still am adorable to her. To her, I still look like I did in this photo. Who else could think that but a Grandma.

She sends her best love to you and the kids...

Denise...
I have always loved this photo. It reminds me so much of Grandma. I always loved hearing her tell her tales from traveling, and everything else that went with it... I wish that I could see her. Although, know that she is not the same Grandma that I remember as a kid a am very grateful for those memories.

oh D.. I never knew that story about Grandma and her birthday. So thank for sharing that!

Also, isn't it scarey that our photo of us is 'vintage' geez at least it's not an antique! ;)

Thanks to Cris, I am vintage. Thanks Cris.

I want to put away my wedding photos because I have been waiting for someone to say how young I looked (or some version of that thought).
