! It's Basil!! Aren't they so cute!! This is my first time growing them from seeds. They are not even a week yet. Soon they are going outside on the deck in the big pots. Is it awful of me to be counting the days until I can pulverize them in the blender and turn them into pesto?!!!!
My sister has been encouraging me to finally start blogging all this stuff that I have been doing. It's been really fun to watch these seed grow. The kids come home each day really excited to see how they are doing and give them a little drink with the spray bottle.

A word about basil ladies. (And I got this from an Italian woman) When you start to see your stems flower...picn them off and ditch them. And make sure they ar enot in direct sunlight, or it will DIE.
We have one bush and it is doing fantastic. My daughter uses it all the time. Clipped for bagels and cream cheese, on our homemade pizza (she calls it her Greek Escape...I may blog about it later on my blog), and in her marinara suace (she is a vegetarian). So as you can see, it is a very well used plant in our home.
When you pulverize your basil do you include your stems or just leaves?
yes I do. Not the stalk but the stems and leaves do go in.
